Great things are happening fast! thats great! wink

I am not able to download the packages from SMF due to network problem, since the download link SMF generates can’t be resumed. sad

Several replies in this topic http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,713.0.html in favour of TinyMCE as a default editor, any though on this for 0.9.2 ?

    regards,

Couldn’t agree more, that’s one of the things that keep you on edge when you work with this team, always moving forward !

I am not the one to answer that question, and I certainly would vote for it ! In fact, should we ever come up with something even better like WYSIWYM (when WYMEditor matures) or Textile/Markdown with live preview, this could be a great way to make some headway agains the competition... but here I am, a dreamer as usual...

The thing is, if I remember correctly the image and file manager are paying addons for TinyMCE. I think we have someone working on a resource manager that’s not Editor dependent and nicely integrated in MODx, but I don’t know where we are there so TinyMCE might have to wait... I’d be glad to be wrong there grin

The latest SVN trunk contains a bunch of fixes and all the manager theme work. I’ll post up a new build later today or tonight.

Any news on that ? Been toying with rev805 and I feel we’re getting close !!

Will we be able to make a release for the 25th (wasn’t that the first day of the modxcms.com forums ? would be great to have an anniversary release !) ?

Another day, another build. Now we’re getting somewhere. Banzai’s crushing the manager theming; thank you!

Started the CSS cleanup and it’s working well in Safari, FF on this end. We need assistance on the file manager file to get it back in shape. And the bottommenubar plugin that’s just not working (to close out FS 174).

Now what we really need assistance with is closing out any open bugs listed on the bugtracker roadmap for 0.9.2. Many have solutions posted and need to be given a thorough review prior to committing. Please if you commit something, follow the convention of:
[FS 8XX] A concise description of what is fixed/added/etc.

[FS 8XX] = the flyspray bug number reference and really helps with the changelog maintenance.

OK guys, everything seems fine in this test build.

            1) Upon saving configuration, manager does not refresh all frames.
            2) The new plugin Bottom Button Bar - New: Adds a set of buttons to the bottom of all manager pages needs to be tweaked for our new manager styling paths and its system events are not checked in default install.

            regards,

@Zi : I had brought that up a while back about the language not being refreshed in all frames, maybe forgot to report that in FlySpray (oops). Reloading the page does work, luckily, but it’s not optimal, granted...

@the dev team : I got a remark from a french guy from the "resistance" (that is, all people annoyed at MODx being the rising star in the french cms world tongue . Some SPIP adepts among them...).

Anyway, this guy made a snap comment about MODx not working with EasyPHP (which I answered is fixed and ready in 0.9.2 laugh ) and being one of the only CMS not to remind the user of its login and password at the end of install (he claims he got locked out because of this...). My advocating MODx has earned some nice and wide resistance, but I think one of the things I also want to consistently demonstrate is we listen to users and know we have still edges to rough out (By the way, those opposing parties of sorts are great helpers to build a good case for MODx, got nice things to add there, and will soon).

Even if I fully agree with this and often remind french people that MODx does not aim end users at the time, I answered this was a good remark and we could have this done if not for this release, for the next (knew it wouldn’t be hard to do), to make it "idiot-proof" (his words). Could it by any chance be done for 0.9.2 ?

                LOL... David,

Adam’s going to add the password resetter to the manager for 0.9.2... been on the radar for several weeks now. smiley On a related note, looks like we just got the file manager working with images again.

Now as far as getting to "idiot proof", the new kickstart/bootstrap installer is going to blow folks away. Imagine doing an install or an upgrade takes simply uploading a tiny 10-30KB file to your server and opening that page. It downloads all the libraries that are needed, downloads a .zip archive of the distribution, does a checksum on it, as needed archives your existing install, unzips the new files, sets the permissions properly, copies in your custom assets and config file, then starts the real installer (which flies through since everything is set up right).

We’ll also have new custom templates from Andreas Viklund and Zi.

                And a fresh installer skin.

                And some other fun goodies.

LOL... we’re gonna make your MODx evangelism job too easy for you tongue

                Enjoy!

I know a few CMS having this, including a french one named Lodel but those are very few on the market... a great thing to have. Not only will it be idiot proof, it will make deploying websites even faster laugh

Yeah well frankly it’s not a hard job because my only work is to understand how MODx compete with other systems, and there is plenty to advocate for cool !

But the things coming are just so exciting !!!
I do enjoy the ride, it’s not even a job, it’s a fun ride for me ! I love it !!!

That’s a great news, my only concern is, will this be compatible with most hosting company permission? I’m a newbie, so any explanation or clarificaiton to this will be awesome.

In 3.php around lines 446-535, there is an IE-only version of the contextual menu and a Mozilla (and others) version. Any reason we shouldn’t consolidate this into one?
