That’s what I have in mind, just one integer that gets increased by one. I know there’s plenty of scripts to do it, I’m just trying to figure out the most efficient way of doing it.
I’m also playing around with the idea of getting the user’s location (there are sites one can connect to to return such information from the user’s IP address, including latitude and longitude) and having a map to display user location distribution patterns; kind of a cute idea, and maybe useful for certain sites. I’ve been fascinated with MySQL’s spacial extentions for some time now. Or using Google Maps somehow...

Next question (for Jeff):
Can you install the latest FCK-related stuff at Pixelhick.com for testing? I can’t create new blog posts now because of the overzealous height from the original 2.1 RC implmentation. Thanks!

Well...I could...but in order to implement the width and height stuff, I’ll need access to some of the core files to make a few minor adjustments. I’ll document everything so you’ll know what I did.

For those that haven’t played yet, here’s a very rough export from rev 384 from Subversion, the latest greatest. There’s still some styling issues to nail down in IE and some QE IE usability issues as well I believe, but this should be fairly up to date. Final content will be forthcoming to match what is finalized on Pixelhick.com.
Curiously, this is 800Kb uncompressed, 300Kb compressed larger. Any ideas why?

Disk size is controlled by block size, which is probably 32 or 64 bytes/block. Therefore, a 9byte file still takes up 32 or 64 bytes of space. Only 1 file can go in any given slot, so to speak.
