Ok...so here it goes:
Take a look at the attachments to my post.? You’ll see the dialog boxes for the inserting links and images.? Looks like some variables aren’t being assigned right.? Looks like a simple thing to fix though.? That’s bug number one.? Now...on to other matters...
On my installation, the menu for TinyMCE appears at the bottom of the editor field.? I tend to err on the side of consistency.? Considering that FCK and Xinha have the menus at the top of the editor field, the same should apply to TinyMCE.? That’s just me though and I think when it comes to your average user, they’re used to menus being at the top.
Also, if you go to the TinyMCE website (
http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/), the latest version is 1.45.? The current plugin is using version? 1.22...which is fine but I think we should stay ahead of the curve.? Looking at the examples on the TinyMCE website, I’ve noticed that they have added a feature set that is very similar to FCK.? I really like what I see so far.? Looks like they’ve concentrated quite a bit on maintaining strict DHTML code output...which is fantastic.? As an example, take a look at the options available for creating links.? Notice the options for creating a popup link with JavaScript.? This kicks ass for those who want to use a strict XML doctype since the Target attribute has been depricated.? They have also integrated a pretty slick image manager.? Not only can you assign a mouse over image, but the Image Browser also has some abilities to edit images as well.? All in all, I’d say they’re giving FCK and Xinha a run for their money!? Very impressive stuff!?
I think we should do what we can to integrate the most current version in.? Only problems I see is the integration of the Resource Manager.? TinyMCE appears to have integrated their own Image and File browser and I’m not sure just yet if a substitution can be made.? Who knows...we might decide that TinyMCE is so good that there’s no point in trying to use the MCPUK browser for this.? I’ll play around with the new version and see what I can come up with for you guys to check out.?
