I think it’s time for a general update of the marketing site as a whole. This would make a good bit of content for a Jot-comment enabled article section.

When you say marketing site you mean modxcms.com frontpage + Features (and subpages) + the About page + possibly the donation page, are you ?

I have a little idea..
a ’submit your modx site’ area should be a nice marketing/promotion idea, showing what modx can do.
Moreover modxcms.com got Page Rank 6 and a lot of webmaster will love a link from it .

I am all for it but I would have it two ways :
- a handpicked shortlist on modxcms.com : only the best designed, showcase grade featured websites in there.
- a MODx website directory handled either by each local website like modx.ru and modx.it...etc. Smart thing would be to have a page linking to all the international MODx pages. That would also showcase local communities...
I know we french are planning to create such a directory on modxcms.fr (an IM conference is due to rough out the details of the future french MODx site which will aimed at being complementary to exisiting resources -> I’ll keep you posted on that).
On top of the showase directory, I am thinking if one of us pros could build up a case study, that would be great.
I’ll certainly do that for the big project I am finishing off right now.

I’m finishing a very complicated real estate community with a lot of feature..
I will write a topic for webdesigner ...something like ’’what I ve done with modx without Php knowledge’

some addictional ideas
- use maxigallery or something like the repository for the sites gallery
- we should improve submission with a ’’best site’ context

Set up a voting system for the "best site".
Then we need to have promotional items; t-shirts, mouse pads, mugs etc., to give away as prizes... I know, I’m dreaming. Someday, maybe!
