It's about to begin

I noticed one other small thing about the new site. Some of the hidden pages are still searchable. It would probably be a good idea to either unpublish them or make them not searchable until they have some content. Here’s a list of some of the ones I ran into.

Thanks Adam. I’m not too worried about those being found actually, ’cause there’s no secret content. We have a "search audit" logged in the list of things to do for the next tech preview... and we’d love your input or assistence there for sure. Heh... it’s kinda fun giving folks a peek of what’s to come (you are TOTALLY right of course)

We’re definitely going to need some search brainstorming somewhere along the way. There’s still a lot to be done. I think it would be great if MODx could have a really strong searching ability as this seems to be one of the things that is becoming a very prevelant issue in modern software.

I considered writing a snippet to at least support searching TVs and highlighting keywords, and I could see how we could handle chunks without too much difficulty. But Snippets are going to be a very difficult issue from a performance perspective. We’re probably either going to have to either cache the snippets every once in a while or have the ability to associate certain search keywords with a snippet.

I’m sure if we get our heads together we’ll be able to come up with a good solution.

hehe, he still looks like he’s going to make out fine by getting his salary for a year to do ... that is pretty nice. Looks like M$ is going to play hard ball for sure
