    So I am following this tutorial and pretty much everything is working except that when I click on any of the archive links it goes straight to the homepage.

    I noticed the link is using the targets id so my archive page has an id of 5 and the archive links on hover display 52010/05 and so on and so forth.

    What am I missing do I have to manually create the folders and place each blog post in the months they go in?

    Any insight is appreciated, thanks.

      i suffer from the same problem embarrassed - guess is has something to do with the FURL user friendly urls settings.

      If you go to http://splittingred.com/ and scroll down to Achieves and click: onto July2010 it directly guides you to http://splittingred.com/archives/2010/07 which is apparently not the real path but a friendly url.

      My guess is that the Achieves snippet tries to point to a FURL address but if FURL is not activated it just messes up and you’re thrown to the start page...

      can anyone make Achieves work without FURL activated? huh

        I enabled FURL and now it gives me a 404 error it’s just weird, on splittingreds page if you notice he manually made the archives folder for each month if you look at his site tree.

        So this is what’s confusing me.

        I will just not use archives in my site for now sad

          You don’t need to create the directory structures. Just place this in your archives resource (changing the parents to the resources to make archives from, and tpl to your chunk, of course):

          <h3>[[+arc_month_name]] [[+arc_year]] Archives</h3>

          [[!getPage?
            &element=`getArchives`
            &elementClass=`modSnippet`
            &tpl=`blogPost`
            &cache=`0`
            &pageVarKey=`page`
            &parents=`34,35`
            &includeTVs=`1`
            &includeContent=`1`
            &showHidden=`1`
            &limit=`10`
          ]]

          [[!+page.nav:notempty=`
          <div class="paging">
          <ul class="pageList">
            [[!+page.nav]]
          </ul>
          </div>
          `]]

          And then link to it using Archivist:

          [[!Archivist? &target=`30` &parents=`34,35`]]

          where &target is the ID of the archives/ page and parents are the resources to make archives from.

            Shaun this is my code on my Archive page resource with an id of 5 in my tree menu and my Blog which is where I want to pull the archives from has an id of 1:

            !getPage?
              &element=`getArchives`
              &elementClass=`modSnippet`
              &tpl=`blogPost`
              &cache=`0`
              &pageVarKey=`page`
              &parents=`1`
              &includeTVs=`1`
              &includeContent=`1`
              &showHidden=`1`
              &limit=`10`
            ]]
            [[!+page.nav:notempty=`
            <div class="paging">
            <ul class="pageList">
            [[!+page.nav]]
            </ul>
            </div>
            `]]

            And this is the code I have on my site to create the archive menu

            [[!Archivist? &target=`5` &parents=`1`]]

            So what am I doing wrong?

            Thanks for your help.

              I assume you’re using [[!getPage? and not !getPage?...

              Can I see a snapshot of your Resource tree, expanded at Resource ID 1?

                  You’re using [[!getPage, not [[getPage!, right?

                    Here’s my code from TinyMCE:

                    This code is in my Archives page (ID) 5

                    Does FURL have anything to do with it? I am also running this as a subdomain site since my current site uses Evo.

                    Thanks again.
