What about writing tutorials on how you created your own site? They can firsthand see the result of the technique you used. And now they can learn how to do this themselves.

Write simple easy to understand how-tos. The important part for a beginner like myself is to make them short and to the point. I like to feel that something is simple, even though it might not be. So when I make tutorials (I have worked as a teacher and made video tutorials for my students) I create steps for someone to follow, so they follow. The less information the better. Go to the core of what is important.
What is vital for the reader to know so they can implement the technique on their own site?

What can be thrown out? Should I place a link for more info... so they can read more about it outside of the bare bones tutorial?

Call me a total newbie for I feel like one even though I have played around with Modx Revo some. I have LOTS to learn.

Top and right menu -- how did you do that?
Links on the bottom -- how did you do that?
Join us mailing list -- how did you do that?
Comments/blog like -- how did you do that?
E-mail/contact form -- how did you do that?

And other things you have done on your site. I look forward to your simple and short quick tips/how-tos. Send them my way and I’ll walk through them and give you feedback. Perhaps even create video tutorials out of them which I can send back to you.
