The new preview windows work great now. grin I think that since I don’t understand the text that I just let my mouse do the walking, which explains how I ended up in the footer. Cool site.

Yeah I would recommend switching from previewbubble to link preview, not only doesn’t it jump but when you hover links on the bottom, the preview is moved above the line instead of below and that makes more sense. The only criticism is that the CSS is messing validation with IE specific dxTransform stuff but that another matter...

Thanks a lot for the comments, really appreciated !

Let’s remember 3 years ago I was consulting for business process and quality management, the web was only a spare time passion thing and now it’s my job smiley I’ve come quite a long way, and I am always amazed by what you guys come up design wise and it’s great to have some cheering up laugh

I’d like to get some photoshop and/or illustrator training, so far I’ve managed with FireWorks but (just like me) it has limitations... I like those 3D effects some designers come up with !

Now I’ve to get down to work on modxcms.fr tongue
I hope I get creative on this one also smiley

I take this two shots in Fedora the Firefox shot is v.1.5.0.12, the other is from IE6 in the same Fedora distro with ’wine’ emulation and ’ie4lin’, the declared version of IE is 6.0.2800.1106.

I like the balance of colors but not the fixed layout, test it with [Ctrl +] [Ctrl -] on FF. rolleyes

        Regards,

          Thanks for the captures smiley
I don’t know why IE6 doesn’t display a simple image background huh Probably something to do with the emulation...

About the fixed design, well everyone has his preferences I for one don’t like variable width as they can get hard to read at high resolutions.

Then there are liquid layouts (best of both world) but they have downsides too. I tried CTRL + and CTRL - and yeah when you increase more than 3 times the fonts, it totally screws the layout but I think it gives plenty of room for people who have trouble reading. Fixed fonts would have prevented this, but it’s a no-go for usability... My take on things is : stay practical. This shouldn’t be a problem for 99% users, I think...
