Just one question that popped up...I don’t know a lot about security, but as soon as I visit the site it goes into secure mode (encryption) Any particular reason for the front end site to be encrypted?
This is part of the company’s proactive approach at securing their customer’s data and never taking security of personal information for granted. While there is only one contact form (as of now), everything is still transferred securely from the front end site, all the way to the delivery of the students’ content (and any of their personal information) for any of the company’s partner sites.
Consider it a comfort-layer for their partners (and students) represented from the very beginning. There will likely be other pages off this domain (non-front end) that will require HTTPS, so forcing every page also proves easier to manage by knowing that HTTPS is a Constant, site-wide.
As far as SEO is concerned, HTTPS does not have any negative effect on the SERPs or the ability to be indexed by the spiders.
