If you’ve ever wondered whether MODx will handle a big site, well it does a great job with 2,168 pages.

Bryan.edu has been runing MODx for a few months now but I waited until our recent web redesign to post it here. It’s finally getting to a point where I’m genuinely proud of it. However, there is still lots more to be done. Working with MODx is so much fun grin

This one will be at the top of my list for showcasing MODx capability... it’s really a clean template that spells "mastery" here... I love it !

And it’s great having a feedback on a complex website run with MODx... impressive ! Thanks for sharing grin

I’ve been following your posts about this site. I liked the original design. This one feels "cramped" to me.

Great work Adam! Looks incredible! If I may ask, what did you use for the menu animation and AJAX LiveSearch?

Thanks for all the good feedback guys.

@Mark: I wrote the dropdown menu and ajax search myself using prototype.js and moo.fx. One of these days I’m gonna document them and release them somewhere but in the meantime feel free to poke around the code and use whatever you like. Their usage is pretty straightforward.

A couple of other things I forgot to mention. The site uses custom print and handheld stylesheets (very nice if you have a PDA).

I wrote a few snippts and such to make this site work that I need to release.

The random header is all driven off of a checkbox TV with an @DIRECTORY binding (coming in 0.9.2) and is displayed through a snippet I wrote that takes one random item from a list style TV.

I also wrote a small Snippet that will only display a TV’s widget if there is content in the TV so that you don’t get empty tags for TVs that aren’t really being used.

If anybody is interested in these just give me an email and I can send them to you. Hopefully I’ll have them documented and released next week sometime.

                      WOW!

Adam, this is great! I saw a search box similar to the one you have made by Dustin Diaz, but in my opinion, yours works much smoother.
                      Love the image fades too!

This is a real impressive piece of work, I’m glad to have seen a live site that handles so many pages, there seems to be no lag when clicking through. Your content tree must be HUGE!

Re: snippets, would love to get some copies!
