I too will have a commercial site using MODx running soon. This is for a national training academy for emergency management which will get quite a bit of interest from some of NZ’s central and local government departments. I’ll post the URL just before it goes public for community feedback.
The gallery should also have stories on peoples experiences as nice sites can be made in just about anything given enough skills, time and money. The beauty of MODx is that it doesn’t require any of those
After trying many CMS’s for several months, MODx was one of the few to stand out as a quality product. What made it better than the rest was the fact it was easy to use and understand.
The outstanding support from the MODx community was pivotal in creating the site. I had no CSS, PHP or CMS knowledge yet we were able to create a site that is professional.
On Jul 26 04:47 I asked for help on my first CSS template design for MODx. 70 min later Mark Kaplan replied with a completed template for us to use as a stating point, we have never looked back!
Since the site uses standard technology and is open source we can expand the site as the organisation grows and our MODx knowledge increases, without having to loose the work we have already invested into it.
A big thanks to all those who have made MODx what it is, to all those who continue to push its limits and to everyone who offers support so freely.
