Aloha Editor!!!

i think shamblett has started to poke around with this editor for integration in frontpage. hopefully it will work out and we will see some cool stuff soon.

Digital Butter is on it as well, they tweeted about wanting to get something available over the weekend I think?

Mark and I have been working on a proof of concept for this, check it out here:

Pull requests would be greatly appreciated, as well as ideas for Aloha plugin integrations.

We currently have the linklist plugin integrated so that it autocompletes and internal MODX links for example. I think something we need to think about for sure is how to integrate with image assets which could work in a similar way.

Soooo sexy! Clients would melt with this feature

I just got around to watching the screencast. This would improve MODx OUTRAGEOUSLY! Totally integrated front-end editing like this is the only reason I ever even considered the Concrete5 CMS. Any idea when this might done/available as an extra?

There’s a transport package available via the Downloads button on Github https://github.com/digitalbutter/AlohaX. Upload it to your core/packages directory and in the package manager choose to search locally to add it to the grid. Then simply install as usually.

But it will need a lot of work and testing to get it stable, customizable and in general real usable.

How exactly do I gt an installable transport package at that link? I don’t see the typical .zip file.
