Why we have easly add different meta description for each doc but not other meta tags .What if you have a 5000 page website with 10000 keywords ?.I read all threads but still not understand this.

I personally use the Summary (introtext) text as the meta description... works a treat
<meta name="Description" content="[*introtext*]" />

yep... also, if you need custom meta tags on a per-page basis, you could just use TVs.
This is ALWAYS my solution. Two Textarea TV’s: meta_keywords and meta_description.
Then, simply drop the following into the HTML
<head>:
<meta name="keywords" content="[*meta_keywords*]" />
<meta name="description" content="[*meta_description*]" />
Voila!
P.S.
If you set the DEFAULT value for your Description/Keywords you can ensure that every page on your site has a description and valid list of keywords. Then, you merely edit/update manually on the more specific, targeted pages of your site.
pixelchutes: What a beautify elegant solution... I think the coding team should use it instead of the current keyword solution (that no one uses)
Cheers
I think I can speak for 90% of the MODx users... NO ONE EVER USES THE BUILT IN KEYWORDS FUNCTIONS.
The TV solution above is the easiest and most user friendly solution I’ve seen yet.
