Mac software Recommendations

And be carefull, mac os x is addicting! I just transformed my Intel C2Q 2,4 ghz with 8gb ram pc to a vmware ESXi server because I never used it as normal pc again since I have my Macbook

I’m already feeling addicted my only ties to Windows as my main OS is Visual Studio.NET, IIS, MSSQL - can’t really think of much else for those I can easily still use via RDP on my Media Center PC, I use Dreamweaver quite a lot but just need to get use to a Mac IDE

Oh the other one is World of Warcraft which I play now and again but that even works on Macs, I’ve even been eyeing up Midi keyboards and music software for the Mac I should imagine I will make the full switch once I have more cash to play with.

You could also install Dreamweaver on a Mac. I also did that to make the switch easier, but I only used it once, real mac software is just better

MAMP obviously. CSSEdit is just fantastic, and Text Mate gets my vote for code monkey work. Time machine is essential for backups. For non work I use Doubletwist (itunes replcement that will sync to other devices apart from ipods), Transmission for torrents and KeepassX for storing those passwords (cross platform). VMWare fusion for running other OS’s.

Don’t know what your exact needs are, but I find myself using TextMate (http://macromates.com/) for almost everything that can be filed under OS X and development
