Have you played with the current QuickEditor? While we currently don’t have publishing/unpublishing from the front end, we do have front end editing working quite well. In fact, there is much that thas been done and will be released in the very near future as Tech Preview 3.3 for some nice updates.

What you’ve asked for and much more is on the radar and development plan, though.

Yeah, I used the current QuickEditor plugin. Indeed, it works great Ryan! 

But why make a seperate link for editing the longlitle? I think you’d better show that as a document setting in the popup window - placed above the document content, just the way the back-end shows document settings. Then again, the publish/unpublish checkbox is also a document setting, so you might also place that there - contrary to a front-end button as I mentioned earlier. Hence, ease the development of front-end editing features by reuseing what you already have in the back-end.

There’s one tricky thing in there though - same as in the back-end editor - when I use template on an existing content item, the original text gets wiped out. Perhaps the original text can be copied to the end of the chosen template?

B.t.w.... Nice to see you call it a plugin.  What is preventing you from also calling snippets and chunks just plugins?

Possibly because snippets and chunks only add content, while a plugin actually modifies the behavior of the parser engine.

LOL ... nothing is preventing us from calling anything, well, anything! You’ll see some changes and simplificiation in all-lingua-MODx with TP4 ... much simpler and more intuitive.
