Hello,
anybody familiar with www.openengine.de - seems to be a nice cms - what do you think? maybe some stuff can be used in modx.
you should install it and have a look at it - seems to be an interesting concept and the installation also runs in english.
sounds great - looking forward to your thoughts.

meelker,
Anything in there we should be inspired by? As in, what are the coolest three things it does?

Ryan,
What I really like about openEngine is the way their front-end editing module is implemented. An editor - with adequate permission - may simply publish or unpublish a content item from the front-end. OpenEngine shows two small buttons next to e.g. an article title. One button to edit it, the other one to publish or unpublish it. I don’t know how the front-end editing module in MODx will be implemented - its development roadmap doesn’t say - but I suggest you take a look at openEngine. It’s not perfect though. For instance, I could do without the warning that openEngine pops up when I choose to publish something. Furthermore, I think it should be a per editor preference setting whether or not to show unpublished items in the front-end. Finally, do not take too much settings into the front though... let the manager stay the primairy interface for administration.
Greetz and keep up the good work!

Oh, I wasn’t aware that TP 3.2 is out - with front-end editing in it - when I wrote the above.... going to check out the new front-end editing ASAP.

Ryan,
Obviously TP 3.2 is on the right track! But is it possible to implement front-end editing as I described above?
That is... a publish checkbox or button on the front-end and a per editor setting to show/hide unplublished content on the front-end.
