File Download Area

Hi All

I have put FileDownload in place on my site - which is great.

I would now very much like to add a description to each file - so the user sees: File icon, file name, size etc and a short description of what the file is (description added manually of course).

I realise this is not necessarily easy with Filedownload, so could anyone suggest a way to achive this using Filedownload or not?

Doesn’t Modx make life easy!!??

This is actually very easy with the file download snippet, there is a parameter for this that uses a chunk to display the descriptions. Check the documentation for further info.

There is a release I am preparing for the repository that will allow you to do some pretty amazing things regarding document association (aka AssocDoc), File Downloads w/ Document Permissions/Security, categories, order, descriptions, sizes, etc, etc. ...all associated at the document level and managed within the "Edit Document" view to boot!

It is ready, just need to prepare the release. Watch for it soon
