SMF with modx from newbie to newbie

I had the same problem you had.
What, in my view, is meant with at that point 5. Is that from that point the basic layout should be okay. Meaning those forum divs should not be floating outside your layout!
I have done these first 5 install steps over and over again. Also making your CSS/HTML validate before all (I know same stupid standard answer) will probably help. It helped me and as you said, head twice is not what you really want.
Curiuos to find if you get that running with webpoginPE? Pretty site by the way.

Forum is now integrated in the design and i’m quite happy about that, however!! When i try to access the Administration Center in the SMF module, i get a blank screen, Synchronize is no different.

This makes me worried.

Okay step ahead, but did the bridge work before you installed the forum?

I installed the bridge last, after installing the forum =)

Okay so here is whats going on:
Using the latest:
modx: 0.9.6.3
SMF Forum: smf_1-1-8
Bridge: Latest from: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,3565.0.html
Login: WebLoginPE, Latest from http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,17359.0.html

After getting to step 6 in this tutorial i read:

Then you need to set this new theme as the default one for your forum: In modx manager -> Modules -> SMF Connector -> Administration Center, Go to the forum and then you should see the forum page and the forum menu. Install the new theme (see SMF documentation to do it) and make it the default one.

But when i go to the administration center i get a blank screen. When i try so synch i get a blank screen as well. When i try to log in on my modxpage using webloginepe i get a blank screen!

WebLoginPe was working just fine before i tryed this smg-bridge, also my smf admin center still works if i access it directly from the forum, no modx.

I guess most of the issues could be related to WebloginPE, but i should be able to access the smf admin panel in modx right?

bit bussy right now, my advise, first undo the changes you made to the two SMF file. So you get back the admin module over SMF. Now check your bridge. Will see what I did back in this thread and will get back to you, casue I had all those issues you had to. And now for sure there is a simpel solution so hang on.

Its comforting to know im not the only  one having these problems. Changing the two smf files back to their original dosent help anything for me unfortunately

Also since i’m using WebLogInPE i have login on all of my pages, still the smf bridge-module asks for Login page, Logout page and Registration page in the configuration.. Not sure what to type there

strange you lost all controll, you should be able to access the forum over "http://your.site/forumfoldername/index.php? If not the installation is kaput.

Else try these steps: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,14143.30.html. I must admit that I only tried since your post to install webloginPE, and did not yet manage to register a new user and give that user the propper rights. But sync does function. So I just need to check settinggs I guess, how I lack time, hmmm. This is the not in menu forum i got tunning on a site: http://www.velocetteclub.nl/forum.html just to reassure you.

PS I had to create a new template and leave out the mailform fieldset because it changed the forum layout.(fieldset {width: 100%; } was my problem)

All right i deleted EVERYTHING smf/bridge related to start on a fresh.

However after doing this i still got a blank screen of doom when i tryed to Login using my WebLoginPE.

I had deleted the smf-bridge module, my smf forum files and database tables. Then i upgraded my modx install and suddenly got an error instead of blank screen when logging in. This made me realize i had to deleted the SMF-Bridge Plugin!

Deleting this Plugin made my normal login function again!!

So perhaps the blankscreen issues i’m having with the bridge is also somehow related to the plugin?

Ohh, and Frank at no point have i lost all control, i have always been able to access the admin panel when using "http://your.site/forumfoldername/index.php?"... just cant access it from modx

I ll see if I can install it all over again on a new site and write it all down agian.
