    Now I have tried putting
    JPG, FLV

in the select a modResource class to import

and the Specify a comma delimted list if file extensions to import,

It finds all my flash files and the jpegs but reports them as skipped.

    What am I doing wrong?

    thnx

Did you create Content Type records for the file types you want to import? MODx must have a Content Type record for each type of file/extension.

I was able to create content types for jpg, flv, mp3, mp4.
I was not able to create a content type for javascripts - js.

And for new people who easily get lost here is a good guide to get started with:
        http://bobsguides.com/getting-started.html

For those who peruse and know better, I tried installing modx1 but couldn’t get past
the installation page with the test database connection and collation. It just froze stiff.

Modx2 went right in, but as noted above, there isn’t currently a sample site built in and so I believe I have actually gone too far importing my html pages and have created triplicated imports of my html pages, and might be looking at deleiting the database and starting again.

For newpies getting started though I found this link to Bob’s Guides. On first look it looks very helpful, but it also seems centered on modx 1.0 (repeated in this post above btw):
        http://bobsguides.com/getting-started.html

I will muck around and see where I can get, I may back up and try modx1 again just to have the advantage of a sample site already built in.

        Thanks open geek and einsteinsboi

Am curious though why modx 1.0 wouldn’t run after doing as instructed. I made the empty config.inc.php file (or whatever that emppty file was supposed to be), then we set all permissions to 777, and the server doesn’t run suexec, so where did I go wrong? This in case I backup to modx 1.0. I’d like the advantage of having some already created pages to turn to my own design.
