Yes, I use that all the time.
It works pretty well, without the wait that you get with browsershots. But it will not tell you how hover sates or scripts are working though as all you get is an image...
no you are right, its not interactive but its fast, I didnt know browsershots was interactive, I thought that was just screenshots?

Static. It produces images of what renders on all their servers. The cool thing about Browsershots is that you can get site rendered images from like dozens of OS and browser combinataions.

On XP and Vista we use Microsoft’s free VPC and the free builds of XP with IE6 to test IE6. On the MAC, VMWARE and an image.
Mac > VMware > Windows XP SP2 > Internet Explorer 6
Multiple IE isn’t native enough, especially since you have to chop and change hacks to support Conditional Comments between IE6 and IE7 (without using custom CCs while in development).

Other browsers like firef*ck should get down on its knees and strive to be more like IE. EVERY browser should be more like IE.
