Must have mac apps?

Best converter I have found (forgot to mention this one) but developpement seems to have stopped is VisualHub, a real swissknife for video converting (you can convert avi to flv for instance and reverse too). AudialHub is just as good... to bad they’re both discontinued Will be hard to replace...

I just read about the release of NetBeans PHP IDE for the Mac. It is much lighter than Eclipse (only 23MB rather than >100MB) and the interface is a bit easier to understand. However, it also runs on Java which to me is a buzz killer. Anyone tried this out yet?

I tried NetBeans PHP IDE for Windows.
It was the one I got on with best, but I couldn’t get the debug to work, that probably was my setup/stupidity though
I’ll give it a go on the mac along with Aptana.

I like Aptana (and Eclipse) but I found NetBeans much faster and lighter on the mac. And like Aptane the PHP IDE comes ready to use, no need to download additional packages.

Something about the way Java apps run on the mac that make me weary. If there was a native mac version (not Java) of any of these I would be sold for sure. For now I will stick to the simple code editor for day-to-day work.

Is there an app that will let me extract only certain files/folder from an archive?

Flamebait: First thing you should install on a Mac is Ubuntu, and then all the rest of your software will also be free! ;-)
