Can you copy a "view source" of the offending final page and post it here?

im attaching a text doc of the view source.

this is the template that downloaded with the sample site.

i use a site that someone set up for me that is in modx, so most of this stuff isnt new to me, ive been using a "ready made" site for months now. but as i now need another site- im trying to figure this out in modx because its so much easier than dreamweaver.

Oh, my shocked shocked I see that you do have a problem! Try turning off the rich text editor and see if you can get some sensible content in your resource to display without using the RTE.

i did that. i dont see mh of a difference, but it didnt hurt anything either.

at this point im trying to go through the modx book and do it step by step to make sure everything is right, and things still arent working.

for instance- the "learning modx" template in the book- i just did and saved and when i go back to look at it the code gets all these wierd back slashes. ive copied and pasted it into RTF and attached

How did you determine that magic_quotes_gpc was Off? Did you check the phpinfo() view from the Manager, Tools -> System Info?
