    you seem to have more of a hand for XHTML 1.0 Transitional , that looks more like the coding style you should use.

    you have some errors there, but not as many serious ones.

    most of the errors are easy to fix ones, like
    should be
    etc.

    will take you 10 min to have the site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional, which is your best bet, your missing a few div closes.

    also add alt="whatever" to a few images that don’t have alt characters. but for the most part you will easily get it to validate with the above.

      Thanks mate.
      How should i set the alt="whatever thing" in?

      <img src="images/news.png" alt="whatever"/>

      Or what?

      The "alt" thing, what is that.

        alt is the descriptive tag , basically its the little box that shows up when you hover over a image in ie.you don’t actually have to set it to anytyhing, just for the code to validate it has to be there.

        you have it correct thoe

        <img src="images/news.png" alt="image title"/>

            I think you need a firmer grounding in the basics. No offense though...

            I would start with learning how to present tight, valid markup using XHTML for the content and CSS for the presentation.

            This book is a good read as it presents all of this really well with good examples and code:

              <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
              <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
              <head>

              then run the validater on your site.

              and correct any errors it gives you.

              eg .

              line blahhhh

              change to

              etc.

              I do think you need to do some reading on it, to completely understand everything. I do this daily and still learn something new everyday.

                I would recommend you to 1) start with YUI grids (they have a builder), reset and fonts css. This will surely not break in IE. 2) Use XHTML strict without the XML declaration since it puts IE6 in quirks mode. 3) Download Firefox plugins like validator and firebug and learn how to use these tools.
