    Hi thanks, do you mean right after this part?
    <!-- end inner -->
    ?

    That resulted in placing the flash at the bottom of the page. I have not yet changed the CSS btw.

      Sorry, I should have been more clear. Move it all to the point just after the opening div tag for "inner". So it goes towards the top of the file...

        If you want it to appear above the content but below the nav just add your code above the content call, ie:

         <div class="post">
                      <h2>[*longtitle*]</h2>
        <div id="flash">
        YOUR FLASH CODE HERE
        </div>
                      [*#content*] </div>

        Then in your css add{

        #flash {
        margin: 0 auto;
        width: ???px;
        height: ???px;
        }

        Or have I miss understood what your trying to do ??

          Ok thanks have used both advice and am getting the best results yet, any suggestions on how to get it a little tighter to the top, and a bit to the right to fit tightly into that content space? Thanks smiley

            Add it to where I told you in the post above and remove the <center> and </center> tags as margin 0 auto does the same job.

            Once you do that I can go to the site and test your css but can’t at the moment as it’s in the wrong place.

              In layout.css you have
              #inner {
              padding-top:143px;
              width:100%;
              }

              change
              "143" to 123"
              ’143’ to ’130’

                Putting the flash code just prior to the content call in the template as noted above will work too. Putting the flash code just after the
                            <div class="post">
                call will work too. (I’ve *got* to stop hitting the post button so quickly ... ) But you still need to play with the "inner" styling.

                Also, it looks like your "left" and "left-inner" tags (or rather, their styling) is pushing your flash over to the right. So I’m guessing there’s left over code from getting rid of the two sidebars that would be best to clean up.

                  Putting it just prior to the content ( which is where it should be ) does work, however the content div isn’t wide enough to accommodate it because of the leftover left div, hence the reason I asked him to put it there so I can look at the code once he has and tell him what to replace wink

                  Putting it where you suggest will probably cause cross browser issues and at the end of the day it’s content so should be positioned accordingly.

                    Alright, I got it more or less to work quite well, in a combination of help.... Code in the template html looks like this:

                    <div id="inner"><div id="flash"><object codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="775" height="276" align="middle">
                          <param name="movie" value="http://www.hpdistributors.com/top.swf" />
                          <param name="quality" value="high" />
                          <embed src="http://alpswebdemos.com/lighting/images/~top-new.swf" width="775" height="276" align="right" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>
                        </object></div>

                    And CSS is:

                    #flash {
                    margin: 0 auto;
                    width: 775px;
                    height: 276px;
                    }

                    Though I’m honestly not sure if the CSS helped or not... will see what happens when I take it on and off.

                    My main final touch seems to be with the sizing of the flash movie itself... You can see there are some white borders around the image for some of the frames, those grow and shrink as I change the size slightly around the 776 x 276 pixel range, I have optimized it as much as I could but it’s not yet ’perfect’.. I did have to ’resize’ the flash movie to fit this template so maybe it will always be like this I’m not sure. I don’t have the original .fla file, or adobe flash for that matter. smiley

                    Thanks to all I am a lot further along in my learnings... smiley If anyone has any bright ideas on fixing the flash to fit properly ’in it’s own movie’ I would love to hear! Thanks http://www.thetanklive.com to see flash movie.

                      You are correct paulp (except that I thought he wanted it before the longtitle code smiley ). And I couldn’t figure out where what appears to be a 1 or 2px border around the flash was coming from. Anyway, I learned a few things in all this about Firebug and CSS and wanted to say thanks to both of you ...
