    Sorry, I shouldn’t have used the phrase "configuration tab."

    In version 1.0.2 of MODx when you log in as administrator, the menu on the far right will have an entry titled "Reports". Select that. Another menu should appear. To the far right of that will be an entry entitled "System Info." Click on that ...

      It’s ok! My version of Modx is 0.9.6.3 I think? Also, that particular tab just has database info on it. I found another tab though: tools/configuration/file manager which has the file manager path in it, currently messing around with this..

        The file path in this wasn’t pointing to the root directory, I changed this now and still get this:

        ModelConfig::configSet - ERROR: missing required file: /htdocs/manager/includes/config.inc.php

        I am now going to edit that file and see what happens!

          This looks like a XAMPP install on a PC? If so, I would have created a subdirectory under htdocs called something like newsite. I’d get there in the broswer by pointing to localhost/newsite for the website and localhost/newsite/backup for the standalone module.

          Double check you path settings - config.inc.php under manager/includes is put there by MODx, so if the MODx install is working then the file is in fact there.

            No it is a fully functional website! It keeps telling me this:

            ModelConfig::configSet - ERROR: missing required file: /htdocs/manager/includes/config.inc.php

            That file is present and reads like this, seems that it is assigning names automatically and stuff! A little confusing for me: (The top of it had my database details which I deleted)

            // automatically assign base_path and base_url
            if(empty($base_path)|
            |empty($base_url)||$_REQUEST[’base_path’]||$_REQUEST[’base_url’]) {
            $sapi= ’undefined’;
            if (!strstr($_SERVER[’PHP_SELF’],
            $_SERVER[’SCRIPT_NAME’]) && ($sapi= @ php_sapi_name()) == ’cgi’) {
            $script_name= $_SERVER[’PHP_SELF’];
            } else {

            $script_name= $_SERVER[’SCRIPT_NAME’];
            }
            $a= explode("/manager", str_replace("\\", "/", dirname($script_name)));

            if (count($a) > 1)
            array_pop($a);
            $url= implode("manager", $a);
            reset($a);

              The installation is definitely in the hdocs folder as well.

                Where is the "backup" folder relative to the assets and manager folders? It looks like a path is incorrectly specified in the configuration file for the backup program...

                  /htdocs/backup

                  This is the folder that I set up to put the original zipped files in to start off this process.

                    Right. And where are the assets and manager folders that MODx users. Put another way - what folders live under htdocs?

                      under htdocs is:

                      assets
                      backup
                      cgi-bin
                      images
                      manager

                      so the modx installation is in assets but I think that it created this file as I uploaded the modx installation to my hdocs file to be honest.
