I make the content of the left and right columns in my templates TVs, such as [*#left*] and [*#right*], have the TVs input be textarea, usually I use @INHERIT for the defalt, then for each "parent" document just put whatever I want for the entire "section" of the site. Then you can edit them. Sometimes I find I need to use a chunk to contain another TV, but usually I can just put in the HTML, snippet calls and text I want. Then they each get their own little Edit button in QuickEdit mode.

strange feeling, mostly other people will tell me I am explaining and showing computer stuff way to fast.
I have to admit I can not quit follow you. I am using the porting Jesse created, and his chunck and css´s.
So the content of the left container is called by, if I understand correct, a TV called m3_leftContainer which in turn calls a chunk {{m3_leftContent}}. If I put there as suggested (is that right?) [*#left*]. Nothing to see.... Thanks and hopefully you can tell me what the simple procedure shóuld be,

Ok, the m3_leftContainer TV would have the actual content, not just a chunk call. Pull the HTML out of the chunk, and put it in the TV. Make sure the TV’s input is "textarea". If this content has any other TVs, put them in chunks and add the chunk tags to the main TV’s content.

          Hi again,

          still one or two issues.

          • The blog page shows no buttons to start bloggin, after I altered the chunks. Probably something stupid I did again.
          • Can I create containers in the "root" that show in te menu and drop docs in there. So they become drop downs? It seems to work more or less but there is a small problem Check,if you can find the time, the button "plekjes", and you will see the problem.
          • Is it possible to manage the content of the left and right colums of the site from the quickeditor
          • Can I make an editor group that can loggon, but NOT in the manager, but so that they go straight in to the quick editor?

          Best, Frank.

          • For blogging, check this page out: http://modxcms.com/blog-tutorial.html; however, it is a bit dated, but should get you started.
          • The problem with your drop down menus was the result of a bug in one of the first releases. Make sure you have all the chunks needed, which are m3_innerTpl, m3_innerRowTpl, m3_outerTpl, m3_outerRowTpl, and m3_parentRowTpl. All these chunks are in the beta-4 attachment on the first post.
          • Look at Susan’s recommendations. All you need to do is place a ’#’ in front of the call to the TV in Resources->Templates->Multiflex-3 template...change the tage "[*m3_leftContainer*] to [*#m3_leftContainer*]. For the right container, each of the boxes actually represent ditto summaries of documents, and the default template for the boxes, makes the box title a link that links you to the main document, which when there can be edited with quick edit.
          • The last one I think you can do by setting up roles in the securities tab, but I am not knowledgeable in that area.

Yes, it should be m3_rowTpl, which is included. Sorry for any confusion.

                Hi,

just a question, it says in the install text that comeswith the beta-4 attachment, that the names are intuitive

"For example, you can use the m3_contact.chunk for the template of the [[ContactForm]] snippet, and the m3_login.chunk for the [[Weblogin]] snippet, etc. I tried to intuitively name them, so you would know what snippets to use them with"

I am puzzled what snippet to use with the m3_su_blog.chunk. I am still struggling to get a blog up and running.
The suggested (http://modxcms.com/blog-tutorial.html) link leaves me wondering where the pagetrail snippet is.

                Any suggestion?

Might be overlooking something basic, but I am trying to get a simple page working with a login on the right - (login ’page’ is set to not be cached)
if I simply use the standard WebLogin call everything works - user logged in, redirected to ’1’ on logout , so I know the user / document group is setup correctly
                  [[WebLogin? &loginhomeid=`8` &logouthomeid=`1` ]]
if I use it with the m3_login chunk, I get a username / password incorrect alert...?
                  [[WebLogin? &loginhomeid=`8` &logouthomeid=`1` &tpl=`m3_login`]]

The chunk exists, named correctly, appears as in Beta4 release...

                  Any thoughts?

                  Cheers

Basically, to create a blog you create a document, which represents an individual blog entry. I would place them all in one folder to make things easy, and then create a document with a ditto call to summarize the documents in that folder, and use the parameter &tpl=`m3_su_blog.chunk` as the template for that summary output. Pagetrail was replaced by Breadcrumbs, and that documentation is a little out of date. Check this out:

I just downloaded the Beta-4 from the original post and plugged it into my site and it seems to work fine. Just to double check, try using the file I attached to this post. If that doesn’t work, what is the exact error you are getting?
