    Hi,
    I’m using the latest version of MODx and Ditto and the instructions for modifying the Ditto source code don’t match with the latest code. I’d like to use different colored boxes on the right side bar as per this post.

    Are there any updated instructions or an update to Ditto in the wind?

    Also I’m unable to work out how to add content to the right side bar box’s and can’t get the login form to display. I’m just got the Title and empty content underneath.

    I’m very new to MODx and trying to come to grips with how it works.

    And Jesse, thanks for all of you hard work on porting the Multiflex-3 template to MODx and your support here on the forums. Great job.

    Thanks! I am just glad people are finding it useful. I am not sure this is your problem, but make sure that if your ditto call is cached [[ditto]] then call the login snippet uncached [!...!], and vice versa. As I mentioned in my post just previous to yours, the ditto had a major revision update from 1.x to 2.x since I ported this template, and I will likely overhaul the snippet with new documentation once this ticket is closed:

    Hi Jesse

    I read the forum http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,9165.0.html on the tploverride and am curious to see if you tested this in depth?
    I would like to give that a try but want to know if you think it is worth it as I see above that there are some problems with ditto and multiplex? Best,

    Frank.

    The tplOverride instructions in that forum only relate to Ditto 1.x. If you make the small change that Mark suggested about using getTemplateVarOuput, instead of getTemplateVar, it should work flawlessly without any severe performance penalty. The only issues I believe people are having are trying to apply my instructions, which were related to 1.x, to the 2.x version that now ships with the default 096 MODx version.

      I’ve recently started using MODx and Multiflex-3 and had some problems with Ditto as the instructions Jesse provides are for Ditto 1, and Ditto 2 is what’s supplied with MODx 0.96. This meant no content was displayed in the right hand sidebar boxes ex. Login form.

      Jesse kindly helped me here as follows:
      [[Ditto? &parents=`X` &display=`20` &tpl=`m3_su_BlueBorder` &sortDir=`ASC` &sortBy=`menuindex`]]
      replaces:
      [[Ditto? &startID=`X` &summarize=`10` &total=`20` &tpl=`m3_su_BlueBorder` &sortDir=`ASC` &sortBy=`menuindex` &trunc=`0`]]

      HTH.

        Hi, I want to have different content in my left and right hand sidebar’s on different pages. These correspond to m3_leftContainer and m3_rightContainer in the Multiflex-3 template. Jesse’s instructions have a section which starts with:
        If you would like to use the 2-column and 3-column features in the content area, we have to make a change to the ditto snippet. (This won’t be necessary once Beta3 is released).
        but I’m not sure if this does what I want and don’t want to waste time trying to implement this if it doesn’t.

        I imagine this is a common requirement which can be handled relatively easily (I hope).

          On the individual pages where you want different information, go to edit it. Under where you edit the content, you should see "Template Variables." Contained in that section should be m3_leftContainer and m3_rightContainer. You can change what is contained in there and it will only affect that page. For instance, you could change the ID of the ditto call that generates the right side boxes to another set of documents.

            There seems to be an issue with UL formatting in .main-content.

            The font is getting larger for each level, see the demo page for an example:

            This is the 404 page.

            http://www.cmssandbox.com/MODx095/index.php?id=7

            If it had another folder level, it would be larger still.

            This is the CSS:

            .main-content ul {list-style:none; margin:0.5em 0 1.0em 0;}
            .main-content li {margin:0 0 0.2em 2px; padding:0 0 0 12px; background:url(../img/bg_bullet_full_1.gif) no-repeat 0 0.5em; line-height:1.4em; font-size:120%;}

            Changing the font-size to 100% reduces everything to 100%, and now every level is the same size, but to small.

            It looks like the font is enlarged by 20% for every level.

            I am no CSS expert, and I can’t get an uniform size for the whole list without hardcoding the size (like 12px).

            Any ideas?

            Cheers,

            Andreas

              I am not a CSS guy either, but I believe if you add this to your CSS, it should work:

              .main-content ul li ul li {font-size:100%};

              I believe that will keep it locked regardless of how deep it goes. I just tried it on the page you mentioned with 3 levels deep and it held consistent.

                Works beautifully, Jesse. grin

                Thanks a lot.

                P.S. I suggest this is made a permanent change in a future update.

                Cheers,

                Andreas

                  Hey Modxler,

                  i have a problem with the Navigation Level 2.

                  When you look at http://www.casgenesisworld4you.de/index.php?id=14 and go with your mouse over "Anleitung" you not only get the submenus, some subsubpages are also shown in the drop down.

                  I changed nothing at the template.

                  Where is the problem??

                  Thx Ju

                    So the call looks like this:

                    		[!Wayfinder?startId=`0` &outerTpl=`m3_outerTpl` &rowTpl=`m3_rowTpl` &parentRowTpl=`m3_parentRowTpl` &innerRowTpl=`m3_innerRowTpl` &innerTpl=`m3_innerTpl`!]

                    ? Do these sub-pages need to have "show in menu" ticked? If so you might want to try to add "&level=`x` to your call?
                    Check http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Wayfinder for the parameters, hope this helps.
