Hello, I am the original author of the Multiflex template series. I am currently working on Multiflex-3, it has some really nice cool new features, better code and less unnecessary options to make it easier for porting to CMS. One interesting new feature are the drop-down menus for the main navigation, as well as a more current web2.0 style appearance. I am planning to submit it to www.opewebdesign.org by the end of October 2006. A few weeks ago I decided to switch over to MODX CMS (from Drupal), but since I am new to MODX, I don’t know how to port a template, so I would be happy to join you guys in getting Multiflex-3 over to MODX CMS!

Hi there. I am glad you join us. I would be happy if I can help your porting the new Multiflex-3 template to MODX. I have experinced porting one of the www.opewebdesign.org template to the MODX. You can see the real website at

        Hey GW,

I also wanted to say that I know that most of your designs come with a 3-Col and a 2-Col layout (sidebar on the left and a sidebar on the right), but also feel that a 1-Col layout would be useful. Further, I know that MultiFlex-2 had an expansive amount of options and made the CSS feel a little bloated to some people. Instead of just dropping that functionality, maybe incorporate it using a method such as they talk about here for color schemes:

That way the CSS stays light and clean, but is easily changeable in the manager and maintains all the functionality. Further, I think you could continue to make your CSS mean and lean while doing beautiful designs, such as you already do, modularizing your CSS and making it dynamic as they discuss in this thread:

Thanks for your comments, yes in Multiflex-3 the CSS will be modularized where meaningful, and the HTML code will also be substantially leaner and thus easier. There are much less CSS classes. As for the basic layouts, all possible options for one, two and three columns will be included. That makes for a total of about 6 different layout possibilities. Color options will be minimal.
