    Brook,

Any working sample of your comments solution yet? Does it use a standard doctype (XML perhaps?) to store the comments for a particular entry?

no nothing yet. hopefully it wont be any more than a couple days though.

If you want any help with the HTML or CSS, I’m pretty good at it; I just have no artistic talent at all and can’t come up with neat ideas on my own. I spend a lot of time on http://www.alistapart.com and http://www.csszengarden.com. Good stuff there.

The themes that I worked up and put up for download on my site ( http://www.sottwell.com/downloads ) are packaged with the template itself, the css, and any default images in a zip file. You can create a snippet to read a directory and create links from files found there, and since they are zip files the browser will (usually) ask to download them. Or if you want to get fancy, something like the DocMan document manager snippet will also do the job. (although it still doesn’t have nested categories; sorry...)

I’m the same as you html and css I’m good. php codeing I’m good. graphics well i play but I would not say I’m good at them.

Yes and I have the same download mamanger or others also that I could use. I want to try and keep it all internal to modx though.

I was referring the DocMan snippet, have you looked at it? http://vertexworks.com/forums/index.php?topic=383.0

On a side note. I almost forgot how much I hate ie. I just looked at some of the layouts that I spent a fair amount of time on and ie manages to really mees them up when they render great in everything else I tested them on.

I’m seriously thinking about banning ie from the internet.

I just realised I have changed the linking structure on my site. The link in the first post will no longer work here are the new ones.

            for the theme testing page.
            http://www.liquidthemes.com/theme-testing.web

Included here are css layouts that I have found usefull ported to modx
            http://www.liquidthemes.com/theme-testing/css-templates.web

1 mambo theme ported that has garbage for html code but looks mostly perty(the original was garbage all I did was port it)
            http://www.liquidthemes.com/theme-testing/mambo-themes.web

17 wordpress themes. Most of these turned out rather well but a few did not. So far I have not gone back to rework the bad ones but there are only about 3 or 4 bad ones.

and last but not least what I’m calling liquid templates. These are kind of new creations. Well some are but I base allot of my work on the skidoo too layouts. So far I have ported the kubrick theme from wordpress to use the source ordered type of css layout. It’s more work but I now have a 3 column and left/right 2 column versions.

              cool stuff!

Expecially since a few templates with some class will put us a bit closer to what draws in a part of the mambo crowd.

ahhh, I just hate ie because quite a few sites only work in ie. discrimination !!! down with it!

sure thanks and I think you asked about the green theme. Sure let me know I can email it to you or is anybody has some ideas for a download kind of thing i could try that also. I know others mentioned docman but I’m not sure if thats exactly what I need as I want to be able to attache the theme to the actual document somehow.
