Ok I have added a few more templates. Some work better than others but most work. Only a few as in 1 has some kind of serious issues. About 90% work well though this is fun.
Up to 13 themes now.

thanks. I have not been around here but lets just say i’ve been around the community for years. I contributed to many open source projects as lead dev, core level programmer, packager and have maintined rpms for mandriva since about mandrake 6.5 or so. I’m kind of taking a break from being in charge but I’m still very interested in this project and am poking my way around.
Ryan has seen me arround and knows who I am although the last project we were on did not fair so well. I think at that time is were we learned about feature bloat and what to realisticly expect from a project. It’s funny I see so many other projects starting out that make the same mistakes. Oh well modx is looking good and I’,m very much liking it. I’m just at this point trying to asses how to get it to do a few little things I want/need and this time it’s more of a hoby.

well that is my plan as soon as I’m able to find a way to have a snippet or such for doing just such a thing. I think I’ve got the comments licked and I’m looking into a way to run a pingback server from a snippet also.
Right now things are in planning stage but I hope to have them going a little faster as I get the features I want added in.
One other thing would of course be a simple way to have atachments on a document.
Brook,
Any working sample of your comments solution yet? Does it use a standard doctype (XML perhaps?) to store the comments for a particular entry?

If you want any help with the HTML or CSS, I’m pretty good at it; I just have no artistic talent at all and can’t come up with neat ideas on my own. I spend a lot of time on
http://www.alistapart.com and
http://www.csszengarden.com. Good stuff there.
The themes that I worked up and put up for download on my site (
http://www.sottwell.com/downloads ) are packaged with the template itself, the css, and any default images in a zip file. You can create a snippet to read a directory and create links from files found there, and since they are zip files the browser will (usually) ask to download them. Or if you want to get fancy, something like the DocMan document manager snippet will also do the job. (although it still doesn’t have nested categories; sorry...)
