Evo works fine on IIS AFAIK. There is a forum dedicated to IIS issues with MODx Evolution. I thought this was regarding Revolution (2.0.0-beta). Moving this thread to IIS board.

        Hi Nick,

How is your php setup is it using an ISAPI driver ? Fast CGI?

Are you able to access the database via phpmyadmin?

        Thanks Aaron

          Hi aaron,

I think both are running on the server.
You can have a look at the follow:
          http://cms.itlweb.com/php_info.php

I don’t have phpmyadmin installed on the server.
We usually remote into server and work directly on the my sql database when required.

Hope the above makes some sense to you.

After spending some time with Niku we are now getting a detailed error from IIS7.

By default IIS7 will show an error 500 to the general public and hide the error, instead you have to access the url direct on the server and that will show a detailed error:

The error at the moment is:

            « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
            « PHP Parse Error »

            PHP error debug
Error: Missing argument 2 for AjaxSearch::AjaxSearch(), called in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\itlweb.com\Subdomains\cms\httpdocs\manager\includes\document.parser.class.inc.php(770) : eval()’d code on line 336 and defined
            Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2

Niku is now trying the install on an existing working subdomain which runs php apps to try and rule out any NTFS permission errors on his newly created sub domain.

If anyone has come across the above error before let me know.

            Thanks Aaron

We have fixed the issue, Niku managed to install MODx on an existing domain he has with no problems, and will be checking the NTFS permissions on the new one which should resolve the issue.

              :)

I knew Windows really loves MODx smiley

                Dear Aaron,

Thank you for the chat assistance.

It was actually an access rights issue on the server - not allowing to write to the config-inc.php file and other access to folders.

I have now successfully resolved this by granting teh relevant access rights on the in 2008 server onto variosu folders for the IUSR account and the Authenticated Users.

The installation was a success - have a look: http://cms.itlweb.com/

I have also managed to get it all working on my local server db as well - using the relevant changes in the My SQL settings.

smileyThanks for all the help. wink
