    Well what a challenge smiley

    A whole host of problems, the load of phpinfo.php went down from 12.86s to just 1.6s.

    Here’s what I did

    * Microsoft Indexing service was enabled hogging 100% CPU - Disabled this
    * Ran FileMon and discovered that PHP was struggling to find it’s files
    * Added the PHPV5 Path to the windows Environment Path Statement
    * Made the following changes in php.ini

    max_execution_time = 90 (increased from 30s to 90)
    memory_limit = 128M (increased from 8M)
    ;extension=php_sqlite.dll (this could not find a pdo extension and not actually used at present)
    extension=php_mysql.dll (this was missing so added it)
    Set error_log = syslog ’ so we could see any errors in windows event log
    Change the extensions path it was pointing to a folder of php4 dlls

    Once I did this the site was slightly better but still slow I then added some registry keys

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PHP]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PHP\5.2.6]
    "IniFilePath"="C:\\Windows"
    "InstallDir"="C:\\Program Files\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Additional\\PleskPHP5"

    Once I did this the site was starting to work still not perfect I then changed the site from using php-cgi.exe in the IIS Extensions to php5isapi.dll which is much better.

    And now we have a working site: http://www.celebrities-galore.com/

          From what I understand the site there at the moment is very basic I think he gave up with trying to build the site on a super slow php setup smiley It should be interesting now over the coming days to see how the site develops, the speed test timings are still a little slow for my liking and I might upgrade the PHP to Microsoft FastCGI if needed.

          MODx on windows is great but it’s times like this when you can see why users could get frustrated with MODx not working on Windows even though shlomot colocation company setup PHP wrong.
