    Hello,

    My new MODx site is developed on my local IIS and copied to its http://www.celebrities-galore.com/"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">web location.

    For the migration process - I haven’t installed MODx anew but rather copied all the working files and SQL dump to the new location.

    I installed ISAPI_Rewrite on both IIS 7 machines and am using the same original MODx .htaccess

    However, where on my local machine browsing a none-existing URL triggers a call to the 404 document, on the website - I’m just getting a server "The page cannot be found" error.

    Can you please direct me to some possible issues (or diagnostics) that cause this problem?

    Many thanks.
      Cheers,
      Shlomo Tommer

      Hi

      You need to also make sure your custom error page 404 is also set to /index.php

      To make sure ISAPI is working aswell once you have made the above change go to a page on your site where you have a form and test the form. If the form submits and nothing happens i.e. form errors / no email then this means ISAPI is not working.

      If the form works your all set to go smiley

        Thank you so much for your support.

        I also forgot to pay for ISAPI_Rewrite on a production server smiley

        Now, it seems that we still need to iron a few details:

        Once I set up custom error documents and linked 404 to /index.php - I constantly received the following error message, even when trying to browse site root or manager:
        Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\celebrities-galore.com\httpdocs\manager\includes\config.inc.php on line 61

        Line 61 reads: $cookieExpiration= 0;

        When I changed the 404 custom error document to index.php?id=7 (my 404 doc), the issue has been resolved with www root and /manager, but persists with re-routed documents.

        In answer to your question about forms’ functioning - all is well when using either friendly or native URLs.

        OOps - while testing, I see that the fatal error above pops up occasionally even when browsing "good" URLs, and in general - server resources are consumed when browsing any page. It all goes back to normal when I cancel custom error documents.

        I have a huge static site on the same server, with custom 404 document that operates just fine.

        Thanks for any further help or direction.

          Sounds like a php setup error,

          Could you tell me more about your server spec, such as cpu, ram (is it your server or shared with other sites)?

          Windows version
          PHP Version
          MySQL Version

          Are you able to run a php test page? does that load ok

          <?php
          phpinfo();
          ?>

            Thanks for your continuous support. I guess it’s all in here.

            RAM wise, it’s only a 1g server, but it carries well another heavy traffic site, and this site when it served a PHP based vBulletin platform.

            It is my server, and a test page is running flawlessly.

              hmmm your site is mega slow even loading phpinfo.php is taking around 13 seconds http://www.celebrities-galore.com/phpinfo.php/&id=800063" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/?url=http://www.celebrities-galore.com/phpinfo.php/&id=800063

              Ive tried to access your site main url and that loads forever.

              Do you have a html file I could do a speed test on?

              In terms of trouble shooting it seems like something is broken with PHP (you probably guessed that already). Have you tried checking Windows Event Logs for any possible errors?

              If it helps you could remote share your desktop with me using something like webex or MSN Remote Assistance / Logmein and we can have a look at your server setup.

                Dear Aaron,

                I cannot believe the trouble you are willing to take, but whenever I share my MODx experience with others - I find myself emphasizing the support environment as one of its primary strengths.

                I placed an HTML file here.

                Also please advise how I relate my Remote Assistance credentials to you.

                Thanks again and much more:)

                    Initially found that the Windows Indexing service was consuming 100% I have stopped this for the moment and CPU is back below 5% now your homepage actually just loaded.

                    It is still slow so still looking around for the root cause.

                      Wonder why Windows Indexing service needs to be active to start with.
