Is there some config.inc file included anywhere in the modx installation that overrides the master values and where I can set additional parameters as well as change the
session_save.handler or the
session.use_only_cookies values? Or do I have to write my own seperate php.ini file (which then probably gets overwritten by the modx settings)?
And then again I’m not able to change the values in the php.ini master file itself: I’m allowed to make a copy, change the parameters there and place this copy in every folder where I need to override the master values. So, wouldn’t this conflict with modx?
Questions, questions questions...

And thanx for answering!

This depends on your host and how they have their environments setup. You can modify those values in .htaccess using php_value/php_flag directives if supported by your host. MODx does not change the session.use_only_cookies value, but it will set the session.save_handler value to what you have specified in your configuration.
