homepage problem - the home menu item breaks the page 404 error

I just went live with the above. (revo)

It was in a folder (add-on domain: http://hewak.ca/breakawaydistributing.com.)

When the domain went live, it worked perfectly. Except for the home button. When I click on it, it goes to
http://breakawaydistributing.com/breakawaydistributing.com/ and therfore a 404 error.

Any thoughts? All the pages have the same header info. So why just the home page?

Also, the manager at http://breakawaydistributing.com/manger won’t accept my pass, but the previous manager location at http://hewak.ca/breakawaydistributing.com works fine.

First of all you should validate your HTML code - f.i. you have two nested <head>-elements. See

As far as the manager login, try clearing your browser’s cache and the cookies for the domain.

I still haven’t been able to solve either problem. I can access the manager at the old location, so I can live with that. But the home button breaks the page: http://breakawaydistributing.com/breakawaydistributing.com/

Can anyone say why it is appending the domain name to the url?

Please anyone?

Will FURLs help? (to be set up soon)

In your header you have a base href, how are you calling that in as it has the following:

<base href="http://breakawaydistributing.com/breakawaydistributing.com/" />

If revo it should be

<base href="[[!++site_url]]" />

I do have <base href="[[!++site_url]]" /> in the header. The header is the same for all the pages. Something else is going on. Maybe someting in site settings?

Could this be related to the fact that the domain is an add-on domain?

Originally it was located at http://hewak.ca/breakawaydistributing.com until http://breakawaydistributing.com became live.

In fact I can still only access the manager at http://hewak.ca/breakawaydistributing.com/manager and that also fails when I upload the .htaccess file for FURLS.

Thoughts anyone?

Did you run the upgrade when you moved the site ? Also check the paths in the config file Core >> Config >> config.inc.php

Also check the paths in the following:

- config.core.php file in the root folder
- config.core.php in manager folder
- config.core.php in connectors folder

Seems as if it is fixed - what did you do to fix it? - others may have the same problem.

I could not solve this problem so I took a major chance and backed up the files and DB and then deleted everything on the server. I then create a new db with the same name and login. Then I did a fresh install of Revo. The fresh install worked but of course was blank. I made a backup of the fresh install. I then uploaded my original backuped files and overwrote the fresh install and imported the old db to the new one. That failed and gave me a white page with error on page and the manager allowed logon but was only a bunch of html links with no style and not functional.

Just prior to killing myself I uploaded the core congif file from the fresh install back up and...it worked!

Everything ok but some weird stuff, eg, some of my apostrophes turned into little question marks? I will paste one here: �

I’m pretty sure this problem was caused by the fact that the test domain was in a folder at http://mydomain.ca/breakawaydistributing.com until it became live as a add-on domain.
