Question:
I have been playing around with modx recently and got addicted because im loving it. However, last night i was trying to create a new TV and i didnt see it showed up as always in the document root(on the lest hand side). Whats wrong? Any ideas please?
Are you sure that you checked the box at the bottom of the TV creation form to give the template the document is using access?
I think we’re talking about different things here. Only documents show up in the Document Tree. Template variables show up in the main Resources page, under the Template Variables tab.
You use a TV by putting its [*TVName*] tags in either the template or the document content where you want its output to appear.

Where exactly are you looking for your new TVs?

Can you use the same TV’s twice? if yes, please tell me how?
Everywhere you put the TV tag, it willl be displayed, whether in a template or in document content or chunks. Wherever the MODx parser sees [*MyTVName*] it will replace the tags with the output of the TV.
If you put a default value when you create the TV, every document will have that value unless you edit it for a given document. You can use "@INHERIT" as the default value. When you do that, edit the TV for a "folder/container" document, and all of its children will automatically inherit that value.
