Kirkhuyser you need to use the login snippet on the front end in order to use frontpage.

This tutorial will help you get started with login.

I've done basic setup in Login. After I log in I'm taken to my "Editors Home Page" which is blank even though I used a template that should show menus and content. Even when I log in as admin I can't see anything on that page. If I try to go to the site's home page same thing - can't see anything on that page.

I assume I go to www.mysite.com/logout.html to log out. I tried that and the logout.html blank page appears - but I'm not logged out. I know that because when I go back to www.mysite.com/login.html there is no longer the user name and password boxes.

I think there is a lot of information missing in the login tutorial - at least for someone like me who doesn't know how this thing is suppose to work.

        @kirkhuyser

Just paste this into your login page:

        	&loginTpl=`lgnLoginTpl`

        	&logoutTpl=`lgnLogoutTpl`

        	&errTpl=`lgnErrTpl`

&loginResourceId=`insert the resourceId you want to go to when logged in`

&logoutResourceId=`insert the id of the login page`]]

The logout link will be available in the login page.

Hope that helps you get started in the right direction.

        Good Luck.

That was part of the basic instructions so I had already done that. There is nothing on the login home page after I log in at www.grizzlyhockey.com/login.html. That's my dilemma.

Did you install NewsPublisher of FrontPage?

If you use NewsPublisher then have the loginResourceId point to the NewsPublisher page it should direct you to it once you login otherwise you wont see any difference.

If you use FrontPage you should see the FrontPage controls at the top of your website, all Login does is just that logs you into MODX it wont show you anything different unless you create a Resource Group for the specified user group that logs in.

Hope that clears it up a bit more for you.

All I see are blank pages. I assumed I could enter a page URL. But when I go to another page, such as the home page, it's blank. I did assign resource group to the user group.

Then something is wrong with your permissions then I think, you should be able to see your site unless you didn't give that user group access to it.

Sounds like you have a permission issue not a Login issue.

I don't think so. Permissions are same for web context as for mgr context. I can't troubleshoot it because I'm now using IE9 instead of IE8 and hence can't even get the login home page to load. Ican get there in Safari, but of course it's still just a blank page.

Is there an alternative to Login? It just seems to be kind of flakey.
