    Hi,
    I am trying to have multiple websites on single installation of modx revo 2.1.3 version.
    I followed the steps from the following URL: http://www.h-quadrat.com/techblog/111-modx-revolution-multi-domain-context-installation-english.php
    I have 2 domains; multisitemodx.com and multisitemodx1.com. I have installed modx revo on multisitemodx.com and then followed the steps from above URL.
    2 things are happening:
    1. When I view documents from multisitemodx1.com, it gives error---Forbidden You don’t have permission to access / on this server.
    2. If I view documents other than the home page from multisitemodx.com, it says Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server.

    I can provide the index.php file. What I think is I may be wrong in the presumptions also from the above URL..."This tutorial is based on the assumption that all domains that shall be served by this MODx Revolution installation are pointing to one and the same directory/the same document root on your web server, e.g. /var/www/localhost/htdocs or /var/www/localhost/modxrevomulti or a corresponding path on other operating systems."

    Thanks

      I do not understand how should I install different domains in the same folder. I just created 2 different domains multisitemodx.com and multisitemodx1.com and have 2 folders for each of these domain.And then installed Modx Revo on multisitemodx.com domain.

      Could you tell me how should i do this?

        I read something about the config.core.php file.
        For which domain should I make the change in this file? Is it the multisitemodx (where modx is installed) or multisitemodx1 (where I copied this file from multisitemodx)

          Hey,

          Anyone have any idea about this or I am just confusing with the questions. Let me know whether I need to describe the question in other words. I am stuck into this.

          Thanks

              If I remember correctly it should go like this if you have a "master" domain:

              - install modx for multisitemodx.com
              - go into cpanel and set up multisitemodx1.com (a new folder should be created by cpanel with the name multisitemodx1.com)
              - inside the multisitemodx1.com folder you should put your config.core.php, index.php and maybe a few other files but not the full modx install(some configuration of the config.core.php is needed)
              - add multisitemodx1 context in the master install and configure it

              Use the above with the instructions in here
              http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Contexts

              Anyway that’s what I remember doing. I hope it helps

                Hey thanks cipa,

                It goes exactly the same.

                I have one master domain
                Created subdomain inside master domain and named it as multisitemodx.master.com. Installed modx revo on multisitemodx.master.com subdomain.
                Created second sub domain inside master domain and named it as multisitemodx1.master.com; not installed modx on this one.
                In multisitemodx.master.com, created context and pointed it to multisitemodx1.master.com. Theres one context web by default ...pointed this one to multisitemodx.master.com.
                Brought config.core.php, index.php and htaccess files inside multisitemodx1.master.com. The contents of config.core.php file of multisitemodx1.master.com are
                <?php
                define(’MODX_CORE_PATH’, ’http://mutisitemodx.master.com/core/’);
                define(’MODX_CONFIG_KEY’, ’config’);
                Then created pages inside both of these contexts. I can view pages from web context and for pages from another context it gives 503 Error

                May I know what other files I need to bring in multisitemodx1.master.com sub domain?

                  Here’s another tutorial
                  http://www.sebweb.ca/modx/multiple-websites-contexts.html

                  Files should be
                  index.php
                  .htaccess
                  config.core.php
                  Later on you will create your own assets, templates, img folders in the second domain folder

                    yes, i have gone through the tutorial provided by cipa.
                    I have couple of questions in that:

                    1. In the initial requirements section, the number 3 "Make sure your parked domains are directed to your public_html folder." So in my case, am I doing it correctly? I dont think so.. I guess my subdomains (multisitemodx.master.com and multisitemodx1.master.com) are the parked domains here and these should be directed to my public_html folder (which means the root folder); but public_html folder of which domain? is it the public_html folder of multisitemodx.master.com sub-domain where modx is installed?

                    2. The last section in the tutorial: "Now we’ll create two "plugins" in the MODx manager". In this it only shows one plugin,oneGateway.
                    Wheres the second one. I guess this is the only page of the tutorial.

                      Also I found one more wierd thing,

                      in the tutorial, it says to create a plugin Onegateway. And to enable the OnHandleRequest system event. Whenever I enable this event, the modx says Access Denied at various places; for example, Under Resources, Elements, Files, it says Access Denied. Even I cannot Logout. When I click on logout, it says Access Denied.

                      ....Oh GOD!!
