I just started getting this message whenever I save the resource or try to change the template:

"An error occurred while duplicating the resource."

...whenever I try to create a new resource using Web>Create>Create a Document Here.

The feature had been working okay and this error message just started coming up. I don’t get the message if I create a resource using Web>Quick Create>Document.

Has anyone out there encountered a similar thing? Thanks in advance.

Exact same problem after transfer modx 2.1.1 (traditional) from one host to another.

Oh, boy... So, is this a bug?

In system setting i’m trying to switch "udperms_allowroot". It helps. Sometimes.

Thanks. I tried that but I’m still getting funky results.

For the longest time I was not able to either save a resource or change templates. Then, I found that if I made the edits before checking the ’Published’ checkbox, the system would let me go through.

Now, I find that even with all that, when I go back to edit the resource, it all of a sudden doesn’t show the Template Variable tab, even though it did show it before.

            This is crazy.

I noticed a bug report that you can see here:

            http://bugs.modx.com/issues/4642

...but I don’t know what ever resulted.

as you think, is there a sense to upgrade modx to 2.1.2?

Actually, I was playing with the thought of downgrading to a lower version. I need to thing about that.

downgrade isn’t safe. Why not 2.1.2?

I feel silly now, but up to now I wasn’t aware that 2.1.2 was out. Yes, probably safe to go that route.

I hope it works but I’m suspicious because of the last note on the bug report, located here:

                    http://bugs.modx.com/issues/4642

...where Shaun McCormick states that the target version for fix is 2.2.0-rc-1. Did I understand his note correctly? It’s the last item on that page. Is there a fix for this problem within this latest release...anyone?

Has anyone figured out any kind of solution for this? I’ve been experiencing this problem, intermittently, on several sites now. I’ve gone to v2.1.2 ... different servers, etc. I just experienced the problem while two thirds of the way to building a site. Everything was going great and then I created a resource by right clicking ’web’ on the resources tab and selecting create>create a document here. Then, when I change templates, or try to save, I get this same error message.

After I experience the message, that’s it. I cannot save anything new or change templates anymore, whether I use the same name for the resource or not. The site is then effectively dead in the water.

This is unbelievable...anyone experiencing this also?
