Just waiting for a response, client is contacting them now ...it does sound like a connection problem as there are many "Unknown MySQL server host" errors when modx tries to use specific files "Error preparing statement for query: " either that or the database has a corruption as it wont let me flush the modx_session database...which I really hope isn’t the case :/

The user you used to access the database in phpmyadmin with just doesn’t have permission to use that specific command, you could "flush" by just removing all entries too.

I moved my database to a different host, all working fine (apart from very slow) so defo a hosting problem, fingers crossed they will sort the problem.

Thanks for your advise guys
