    hello

    I’m trying to figure out how to hide this one on the picture:

    http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa253/tintingerri/Test/test-1.png

    I gather that this is the Title I wrote if I create a new resource.

    Is that possible to hide the one which I encircled in red?

    It looks redundant because on the left side, you can also see the "About" name...

    Would appreciate your help thanks

      Hi there,

      You want to remove the title?
      Open your template and remove the placeholder: [*pagetitle*] (or whatever placeholder generates "About"

      Title is gone, is this what you want to do?

        Hi

        I will try that and I will see if this is what I want to do.

        But i still want to leave the name "About" at the left side. Is this possible?

          Yes of course.
          You can include the placeholder in one place, but remove it from another part of your temple.
          Example:

          <ul><li>[*pagetitle*]</li></ul>
          <h1>[*pagetitle*]</h1>

          If you only have one instance of [*pagetitle*], then the Page title will only be inserted into the template once.

              Are you sure you edited the right template? Can you post the template code here so we can have a look?

                Hi lucas

                here is the code:
                I saw this under chunks with a name head YAML template:

                <head>
                    <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
                    <title>[(site_name)] | [*pagetitle*]</title>
                    <base href="[(site_url)]"></base>

                    <!-- Grey Box integration -->
                    <script type="text/javascript">
                        var GB_ROOT_DIR = "[(base_url)]assets/js/greybox/";
                    </script>
                    <script type="text/javascript" src="[(base_url)]assets/js/greybox/AJS.js"></script>
                    <script type="text/javascript" src="[(base_url)]assets/js/greybox/AJS_fx.js"></script>

                  I think you’re looking in the wrong place there - am I right that you didn’t design this site but are trying to make some changes?

                  To find out which template your ’About’ page uses, first open the ’About’ document (from the left hand side ’tree’ menu in the modx manager). Scroll down to where it says Uses Template and take a note of the name of the selected template.

                  Now go to Elements > Manage Elements > Templates and click the name of that same template you have noted from above. This is the basic template for your ’About’ page.

                  Could you post the code for that template here and depending on what we find there I’ll tell you what to do next wink

                    Hi lucas you are right. I am making the changes and the designer of the website is not here anymore so I’m responsible now.

                    I saw what you mean and here is the code for that template: Does this help?

                    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

                      I’m pretty sure the ’chunk’ you now need to edit is {{content-box}}.

                      But first, if you’re working on a live website it would be a good idea to make a backup just in case the site breaks. Go to Tools > Backup, click the checkbox next to Table name to select all tables in the database, then click the ’Click here to backup’ link. Your browser will begin downloading a backup of the database which can be used to restore the site to its current state if anything goes wrong.

                      Now, go to Elements > Manage Elements > Chunks, then find and open up ’content-box’.

                      Inside there you should find the placeholder [*pagetitle*] - delete that, and if its wrapped in any heading tags - eg. <h1></h1> - you could delete them too. Then hit ’Save’ and view your web page again; the heading should hopefully be gone...

                      Note: the heading will also be removed from any other page that uses that template as well.
