If the snippet is in the DB, mod_security is probably not the issue.
Try this, manually delete everything in the core/cache directory (be careful not to delete the /core directory). Then see if the stuff shows up in the tree at least once. If so, it’s probably a permission problem with the cache directory.
If that doesn’t help, it’s most likely a corrupted install. Try running Setup again in upgrade mode (just make sure the "Upgrade existing install" is checked).
If that doesn’t work, I’d re-download MODx and start fresh. MODx contains literally thousands of files and it’s not that uncommon for one or more to be corrupted in the transfer process.
Deleting cache didn’t help, so I installed again. I unzipped via cpanel and installed once again. Same problem. Next I tried unzipping and then uploading files via ftp. I thought maybe cpanel extract does something stupid.. but that didn’t help either. I really need start to build the website so might do it without modx or try evolution.. I really appreciate your help, thanks!
Sorry for all your trouble. I wish I could have been more helpful.
Hi
I have exactly same problem with fresh install of Revo 2.2.0. Has anyone got a solution to this problem yet ?
Hi All,
I too am having the exact same issue. I know the data is present in the database as I have a previous install of modx running on a different domain connecting to the same database.
On the new install I am able to make new elements and resources, but none of the existing ones are visible.
Same here, I can add a new resource and it will show up in recent resources (from there I can even edit it) but nothing shows up on the left tree apart from top element.
Try turning off the compress_js and compress_css System Settings, then delete all files in the core/cache directory and clear your browser cache and cookies.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I've tried that and it didn't make any difference. I think your solution helps when you cannot see the resource browser at all. In my case I can see it just fine. I can add files and resources but the browser just cannot read them back. Please have a look at the screenshot.
Have you created any resource groups and protected any resources?
