    Hi Guys,

I now have two clients websites with the same problem!

http://wighthomecare.co.uk.predns.ourwindowsnetwork.com/ Its very much still in development but I have turned on friendly urls done the standard etc but the pages just wont change when you click though on the navigation, works fine with friendly urls turned off, I cant work it out

Im on a windows box which has been fine for all my other websites, its uses isapi rewrite which treats the .htaccess file the same as apache.

Im stuck at the moment so any help would be great!

      Try something.
Create an error page. Set in system settings the ID of this error page.
      Then try you links.
If you are redirected to the error page, you are doing something wrong, like the Friendly URLs setup. Maybe you are handwriting the links and making some mistake.

I should add that it was working when I had the .html set as the content type, I then changed to / and since its not working.

        Will try that error now..

Interesting, it now goes straight to the error page I made - http://wighthomecare.co.uk.predns.ourwindowsnetwork.com/

          What does this indicate?

          Thanks

First of all, you cannot change content type from .html to /, you are talking about FURL ( Friendly URLs ).
MODx revolution by default create URLs like www.mydomain.com/yourpage.html or www.mydomain.com/element1/element2.html so you shouldnt’ need chage something.
What does mean no you are being redirected to an error page? Your links are wrong. If you do a page preview from the manager it is possible that the page will show correctly.

If you are writing the links your self in template ( for example /element1/element2.html ) change it. If the element2.html has the id 28, write [[~28]] and this tag will be replaced with your url. For example:
            <a href="[[~28]]">your link</a>

There are other threads on here that say to change the content type from .html to / if I dont want the .html extension, how else would you change what is displayed as the URL on the front end instead of .html?

Before that, have you tried what I told you?

Right, I have now changed the content type back to .html, the homepage still comes up as the error but the links now work on the navigation and loads the correct content, I guess this is progress, but why is the home page not working?

I can see your homepage correctly, and links working.
can you put the code of your links ( template/content )
