In Revo, the manager folder can (and probably should) be called something else. So going to
http://wordsmatter.softville.com/manager won’t get you anything but the home page even though it’s running MODx Revolution.

How can I change my install of modx 1.0 evolution to a modx revolution install?
There’s no easy way but this might help:

Uh on second thought.. Although I like many features on revolution and many of its features could be extremely useful for many sites I’m working on, revolution seems a bit too complicated for me; it seems it was made for more advanced users. I think I’ll stick to the old versions.

Oh miamisurf, don’t give up so soon.
I too am not an advanced php programmer, but truthfully, Revolution is "way" more simpler than Evolution.
The new terminology can be freaky, but once you have it (for the most), it is really awesome.
It is not really made for more advanced users, it just change what we know about MODx because of a lot of new terms and the Manager Layout.
It’s still in beta stage so if i were you, i’ll keep looking at Revolution on localhost just to get on the train asap, and have a good grasp of it’s possibilities once it reach RC stage.
In fact, i think it would be nice to tell on the forum what you find difficult and/or less straight forward, maybe the dev team can do something about it. They want to do something about it, but they have to know exactly what’s more difficult, and what they can change.
Thank you for the encouraging words lossendae, I’ll take your advice and keep getting the hang of it on localhost. After years of using the old version, I guess I’m like the people that didn’t want to learn how to use a computer after so many years of using a typewriter haha.
Merci mon ami!

That’s exactly what a beta version is for, and the more people beat on it the faster it can mature!
