Interesting
Yes it has been the older versions so far, but I am not sure they were all 0.9.6.3
Have only has the issue over the last 3 weeks, and on 5 of about 30 odd sites, so the problem is spotting it. Haven’t had a site do it twice yet.
Is there any clue in the manager log of the site that just died?
Interesting that both your hosts happen to be Heart, the site content table is fairly central to MODx and read/written to more than the others, elements, for example snippets are generally mainly read from, whereas logs such as the event log are generally mainly written to, any underlying storage issues will probably be felt on this table first.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!
Went back to have a look at the first site this happened to.
You can see the error happen in Reports / System Events
There will be a list of parser errors, but if you go back to the first one it is an update error:
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« Execution of a query to the database failed - Incorrect key file for table ’./xxxxx@xxxxx/modx_site_content.MYI’; try to repair it »
SQL: UPDATE `xxxxx-xxxxx`.`modx_site_content` SET introtext=’’, content=’

There are 2 of these errors 1 minute apart, and thereafter you get the
’site_content is marked as crashed and should be repaired’ messages
I get the same, but 3 times. All the same page being edited, but one has some additional content.

At least we now know that editing the site kicks off the error.
I have just tried double clicking on the save button just in case it was that, but didn’t seem to do it.
Maybe if any other Heart users come across this they could post so we can start to get a group together and go to them?
Or maybe this is a MySQL 5.1.48 issue?
I’ve had 4 sites on Heart servers with the same issue.
Only started happening about 3/4 weeks ago.
On another note an image thumbnail script I use won’t work on Heart’s version of PHP 5 (will on PHP4), but will on another Host’s server running PHP 5.
Starts to look like Heart have got a flakey version/setup of PHP5.
Might be worth a try.
The sites I’m referring to are a designer’s that I work with.
I migrated my sites away from Heart to One Smart Host, so this doesn’t actually affect my sites.
I’ve just checked and one of the sites is running PHP 4.4.9, so it doesn’t look like a PHP version issue.
I wonder if they run separate MySQL servers and have problems with one or more of them.
Hi David
Lost yet another site today...
What is the version of MySQL on the site running on Heart with PHP 4?
Also, as I don’t have access to anything on One Smart Host, what MySQL version are they using?
This might help to build up the picture
