Hi I’m getting the following errors if i try and view pages on a site:

    « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« Execution of a query to the database failed - Table ’./web100@002dmodx/modx_site_content’ is marked as crashed and should be repaired »
    SQL: SELECT DISTINCT sc.published FROM `web100-modx`.`modx_site_content` sc LEFT JOIN `web100-modx`.`modx_document_groups` dg on dg.document = sc.id WHERE (sc.id IN (1) AND sc.published=1 AND sc.deleted=0 ) AND (sc.privateweb=0) GROUP BY sc.id LIMIT 1

    The modx version is 0.9.6.3

For some reason the index.php is fine but it’s only if you click any other links. I think the client removed an image and this happend. Anyone any ideas?

Also according to the manager there are no resouces, and get the same error within the content frame area of the manager.

    Ben

...is marked as crashed and should be repaired
You need to repair this table, see http://www.databasejournal.com/features/mysql/article.php/3300511/Repairing-Database-Corruption-in-MySQL.htm
      and many others.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

Thanks shamblett, I’ve actually just spoken to the host and they can provide a back from the last seven days. So if i get that, overwrite the current one with the back up. Should, in theory the site start working or will I need to run the install or anything again?

You may not need to do this, just repair the table, MYSQL will tell you if its beyond repair so as to speak. Your restore may not work if you don’t repair the table, depending on what exactly your hosts call a backup. If it works back up immediately then bring the site backand you should be OK.

If you have access to MyPHPAdmin on the site then you might find this thread helpful

            http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,53634.msg312949/topicseen.html#msg312949

You will probably find that the repair works fine, it always has done for us so far...

Thanks both for the replies, I’m gonna try and repair then.

bluespark in the thread you mention, the bit you put:
OK< I found the repair option from the Structure tab. The repair option is a small pull down selector at the bottom. Seems to have done the trick...

I don’t seem to have any pull down selector. All I get is:
              Error

              SQL query: Edit

              SHOW FULL FIELDS FROM `modx_site_content` ;

              MySQL said: Documentation
#145 - Table ’./web100@002dmodx/modx_site_content’ is marked as crashed and should be repaired

what that is referring to is that when you use phpMyAdmin you will see the list of tables on the screen, on the right hand side
you tick the box next to site_content and right at the bottom of the listing of tables is a dropdown selector, and one of the options is ’Repair’

NICE ONE, thanks both. It’s back up and running grin.

I was looking for that drop down when I’d clicked into the actual table.

Right backing this up right away smiley

Bluespark you mentioned this has happened on a few sites for you, once repaired has it occured again? Any thoughts on what might of caused it. My client mentioned they removed an image and then saved. After that it went down.

                  Thanks again.

                  Ben

                    Hi Ben
No pattern so far, but now looking into it as I thought it might be just us - now I realise it might be a more general problem.
Who is your host? We have only seen this on Heart

Guess what, Heart as well! But i’ve never seen this problem before. What modx versions have you had problems with. This was an older site and using modx 0.9.6.3.
