I was playing in a jazz band once and we were under a tarp because it was raining. It all went well until we were breaking down and about 30 gallons of water collected in the tarp came down on the Roland keyboard. We opened it up, aimed a hairdryer at it for about 40 minutes, and it was fine. Modern electronics are surprisingly tough when it comes to moisture.

OTOH, when my LG phone went into a urinal and I rinsed it immediately with running water, it never did recover -- though I’m not sure I’d have wanted it to. tongue

I dropped my beeper (it was a while ago, remember those?) in the toilet twice and it recovered both times after rinsing and drying it out.
And a glass of water on a keyboard too.

Beer or maybe soup would be a problem. Electronics seem to recover from water ok, just not stuff with nutrients.

Just a footnote to this saga...

I received my replacement keyboard from my eBay purchase today. Shipping was pretty quick actually. I spent about 30 minutes carefully opening, disconnecting everything and replacing the keyboard. I then put all the zillion screws back into the MacBook Pro and it works again! I am pretty pleased as this only cost me $45 including shipping...
