Shaun, can you explain us why a page is called an Action.
I think we are confused because in Evo a manager Action
was an action / a verb... maybe is just me...

Actually in Evo an "action" is what determines which file is loaded into the right working frame. If "action" (?a=) is 27 you get a form for editing a resource, with the resource’s data loaded into the form. If a=4, you get an empty form for creating a new resource. You can see the actions in Evo and what files get loaded if you look in the manager’s index.php file.

As far as I understand it, "actions" are the same in Revo - it’s the action that determines what you see; what "page" gets loaded. So as far as the Manager goes in both versions, "action" and manager "page" are more-or-less synonymous. Action is what you’re doing, and Page is what gets loaded so you can do it.

Yes Susan, you are right, I think my confusion was in the naming of the actions,
as you can see here: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Manager_Actions .

And for each action, a page is loaded to perform it...
and just like that, with your help, I answered my own question. grin

so for: ’27’ => ’Editing document’,
the editing page of the document (now resource) is loaded on the right.
In Revo, we select the Action by selecting the page in a download menu and
doing something with it... or applying a rule or something...

The fog is starting to lift...
        here comes the sun ....
