I use Hostgator as a host and when they update php or mysql versions trouble is afoot. When my client edited their site the first time, it broke the sitecontent table forcing modx parse errors. It was a simple fix to just repair all tables in the site and all was good. The lesson for me was to go through all my sites on same host and repair all tables in advance of the site crashing.
Hi Noah! thanks ... this is on Maiahost. i only repaired modx_site_content, so do you mean, even if everything works fine now, it’s better to repair all tables? are there any odds of repairing tables?
... and can anyone explain to me what actually happens to a table when it gets "repaired"? smiley

    thanks, j

A MySQL database actually consists of a number of files to contain the actual data, index data, and other metadata. The repair process re-creates some of these meta data files.
