TVs aren’t stored in the site cache file, so they don’t slow things down as much as too many documents and other items that get stored in the cache file and loaded into memory as arrays for the parser. Only if the tables got so huge that it would slow down MySQL itself, and that takes a lot more to effect than PHP’s file and array management functions.
